How Many Creatine Gummies Should You Take a Day? (Simple Math)

Short answer: take enough gummies to get 3–5 g (3,000–5,000 mg) of creatine a day. To find the number, divide your target dose by the creatine in one gummy:

gummies per day = target dose (mg) ÷ creatine per gummy (mg)

With NaturaVivo Creatine Monohydrate Gummies, which have about 1,250 mg per gummy, that's 4 gummies a day for 5 g. That's the serving on the label.

Why 3–5 g a day?

That's the daily dose used in most creatine research and recommended by the International Society of Sports Nutrition (ISSN position stand). Taken every day, it fills your muscles' creatine stores in about 3–4 weeks and keeps them full. Taking more doesn't make creatine work better once your stores are full; your body simply gets rid of the extra.

Dose table by gummy strength

Creatine gummies vary a lot from brand to brand. Find the "creatine per gummy" amount on the Supplement Facts label, then use this table:

Creatine per gummy For 3 g a day For 5 g a day
500 mg 6 gummies 10 gummies
750 mg 4 gummies 7 gummies
1,000 mg 3 gummies 5 gummies
1,250 mg (NaturaVivo 5000 mg gummies) 2–3 gummies 4 gummies
1,500 mg 2 gummies 3–4 gummies

If a label lists creatine only per serving, divide that amount by the number of gummies in a serving. If it doesn't state the creatine amount at all, or hides it in a "proprietary blend", choose another product.

Should you load with gummies?

Loading means taking about 20 g a day, usually split into four 5 g doses, for 5–7 days to fill your stores faster. With 1,250 mg gummies, that's 16 gummies a day, which isn't practical.

The good news: loading is optional. 3–5 g a day gets you to the same full stores in about 3–4 weeks instead of one. Loading also brings more stomach upset and a quicker jump in water weight. For most people, the simplest plan is 4 gummies a day from day one.

If you do want to load, use powder: four scoops a day is far easier than 16 gummies. See Creatine Gummies vs Powder.

Do bigger or very active people need more?

Possibly a little. The ISSN notes that larger athletes training hard may need more than the standard dose to keep their stores full. For most people, 5 g a day is plenty.

If you do want more than 5 g, add a scoop of powder rather than doubling your gummies. Each 4-gummy serving of our gummies also contains 500 mg L-taurine, 100 mg alpha-GPC and 25 mcg vitamin B12, and those amounts are set for one serving a day. Stick to the serving on the label unless your healthcare provider tells you otherwise.

When and how to take them

  • Any time of day works. Taking creatine every day matters far more than when you take it. Pick a time you won't forget, such as breakfast or right after your workout.
  • Take them every day, including rest days. The goal is to keep your stores full.
  • Splitting is fine. Two gummies in the morning and two later count the same as four at once, and splitting can help if you have a sensitive stomach.
  • With or without food. Either works. Taking them with a meal can help with stomach comfort.
  • Drink normally. Creatine pulls water into your muscles, so stay well hydrated, especially when training in the heat.

How long until you notice anything?

At 4 gummies (5 g) a day, your muscle stores fill up over about 3–4 weeks. Most people notice changes in training, such as an extra rep or better repeat efforts, over the following weeks. You may also see a small gain in scale weight (about 0.5–1 kg, or 1–2 lb) early on. That's water stored in your muscles, not fat.

Red flags on a gummy label

  • Creatine per gummy or per serving isn't stated.
  • Creatine is part of a "proprietary blend" with no amount given.
  • A full serving gives well under 3 g.
  • The form isn't creatine monohydrate.
  • No expiration date, or no way to ask the brand for a certificate of analysis.

Independent lab tests have found some gummies containing far less creatine than their labels claim, which is why these details matter. More in Creatine Gummies vs Powder.

Frequently asked questions

Can I take 2 gummies instead of 4?

Two of our gummies give about 2.5 g. That's below the 3–5 g range in most studies, so your stores will fill more slowly and may not fill completely. If you want a smaller dose, 3 gummies (about 3.75 g) stays within the researched range.

What happens if I miss a day?

Nothing much. Your stores drop very slowly, so just take your normal serving the next day. There's no need to double up.

Is it safe to take creatine gummies every day?

For healthy adults at 3–5 g a day, creatine has a strong long-term safety record. Talk to your doctor first if you have kidney disease, are pregnant or breastfeeding, are under 18, or take medicines that affect the kidneys.

Should I take more gummies on workout days?

No. Take the same amount every day. Your stores, not the timing of each dose, are what matter.

Can I combine gummies with a creatine pre-workout?

Yes, but count the total. Our Pre-Workout with 5 g Creatine already covers a full day's dose, so on days you take it, you don't need gummies.

Does creatine cause hair loss or bloating?

A 2025 randomized trial found no effect on hair at 5 g a day. Bloating is uncommon at normal doses. Read Does Creatine Cause Hair Loss or Bloating?

The bottom line

Aim for 3–5 g of creatine a day. With NaturaVivo Creatine Monohydrate Gummies, that's 4 gummies a day. Skip loading, take them every day, and give it 3–4 weeks.
